The University Institute of Research on Olive Grove and Olive Oils (INUO) at the University of Jaén has published three grant award decisions under the INUO 2026 Grant Program for Research Stays by Visiting Researchers, an initiative aimed at strengthening international scientific collaboration and promoting the temporary incorporation of researchers of recognized standing into the Institute’s research activities.
The three grants will enable researchers from Cyprus, Brazil, and Argentina to conduct research stays at INUO as part of scientific collaborations with international research groups and in accordance with the approved work plans.
Specifically, the first grant was awarded to Hüseyin Çelik, a researcher with the Faculty of Agriculture at Near East University (Cyprus), as part of the scientific collaboration spearheaded by researcher María Gutiérrez Salcedo of the INUO’s Marketing and Economics Unit. The visit will contribute to the development of joint research activities between the two institutions.
The second grant will enable Leonardo Vasconcelos Fregolente, a researcher at the ‘Laboratório de Refino e Biorrefino’ (LOPCA REF-BIOREF) at the University of Campinas (Brazil), to conduct a research stay at INUO. The collaboration is led by María Dolores La Rubia García, a researcher at INUO’s Process Engineering Unit, and aims to carry out the research activities outlined in the approved work plan.
Finally, INUO has awarded a third grant to Patricia Beatriz Lombardo, a researcher at the Instituto de Estudios Sociales Agroalimentarios, Rurales y Ambientales (IESARA) at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). The visit will take place as part of the scientific collaboration promoted by Juan Carlos Rodríguez Cohard, a researcher in INUO’s Marketing and Economics Unit.
The three resolutions emphasize that the purpose of these visits is to contribute to the establishment and consolidation of scientific partnerships between the invited international research groups and INUO, as well as to facilitate the development of the activities outlined in the respective work plans.
With these three new grants, INUO continues to make progress in its strategy to internationalize research, promoting the creation and consolidation of international scientific networks and generating new opportunities for knowledge exchange, the development of joint projects, and cooperation among researchers and institutions involved in the field of olive groves and olive oils.
