Today, 28 April, the Andalusian Living Lab Hackathon took place at the University of Jaén.
Under the slogan “Let’s build the Olive Grove Living Lab together”, the event brought together representatives from the olive sector, technology organisations, research centres and key local stakeholders with the aim of collaboratively designing the future of this Living Lab.
This event forms part of its commitment to social innovation, citizen science and co-creation processes as tools for tackling the challenges linked to soil health and the sustainability of agri-food systems.
During the event, the team was able to exchange experiences with other Living Labs, share methodologies and learn about initiatives developed in the Andalusian context.
The event, organised by the University Institute of Research on Olive Grove and Olive Oils (INUO), combined various participatory activities throughout the day. Following an official welcome by the coordinating team of the Andalusian Living Lab, the first session focused on experiences within the LivingSoiLL project, with the participation of a diverse range of professionals from the agricultural and scientific sectors.
The attendees then took part in various thematic groups aimed at analysing key aspects of the Olivar Living Lab, such as how it is perceived by the stakeholders involved, its value proposition, the business model and the services to be offered. These working sessions facilitated the exchange of knowledge and the collective development of proposals aligned with the sector’s real needs.
The event also included networking opportunities, such as coffee breaks and a working lunch, which helped participants to connect with one another. The hackathon concluded with a final session to draw conclusions and present awards, during which the main outcomes of the process were shared.
