DCOOP, the largest agri-food cooperative in spain, held its annual assembly on june 26 in antequera, an event where, in addition to presenting record economic results, it reaffirmed its firm commitment to sustainability and innovation in the olive oil sector.
During this meeting, the cooperative highlighted the launch last march of its new extra virgin olive oil, AOVE NATURA, the first in europe to have the prestigious international Sustainably Grown (sg) Certification, granted by the independent organization SCS Global Services.
This certification guarantees that the oil has been produced under the strictest criteria of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and good agricultural practices. It is a globally recognized seal that ensures respect for the environment, efficient resource management, and biodiversity protection.
AOVE Natura is the result of Dcoop’s commitment to a production model that prioritizes innovation and environmental responsibility, integrating practices such as efficient water use, maintaining ground cover, reducing emissions, and soil care. Furthermore, its packaging in recycled plastic bottles (R-PET) reinforces the cooperative’s commitment to the circular economy.
With this milestone, Dcoop not only positions itself as a leader in sustainable production in Europe but also contributes to adding value to olive groves, a fundamental crop for the economy and landscape of many Spanish regions. The cooperative emphasizes that this initiative responds to the growing consumer demand for high-quality products made in a way that respects the planet.
AOVE Natura will initially be available in the supermarkets of the associated cooperatives themselves, and soon it will be possible to purchase it through online platforms such as Amazon.
“This is a historic step for the European olive oil sector and a sign that sustainability and competitiveness can go hand in hand,” Dcoop emphasizes.
