The management team of the University Institute of Research on Olive Grove and Olive Oils (INUO) of the University of Jaen has met this morning with the governing body of the Hatay Mustafa Kemal University of Turkey. This meeting was chaired by the Director and Secretary of INUO, Juan Bautista Barroso and Pablo Cano, the Rector Veysel Eren, the Vice Rector Ersin Can and the Head of the International Relations Office of the Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Ömer Faruk Kadan.
During the meeting, a brief presentation of INUO was made, highlighting the main lines of research of the eight units specialized in the olive grove and olive oils sector. Hatay University then shared its experience in olive and olive oils production, since it is located in Hatay, an agricultural city where 20% of its production is destined for the olive sector. This point is of special interest to establish synergies between the two institutions to promote the internationalization and professionalization of the olive sector.

Finally, the meeting concluded with a visit to the INUO facilities, specifically to the different laboratories where the scientific-technical equipment that allows the institute to participate in project consortiums with great international relevance is located.
