UNIVERSITY OF JAEN STRENGTHENS ITS COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH AN AUSTRALIAN UNIVERSITY

The researcher member of the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment of the Western Sydney University (WSU) in Australia, Robert Spooner-Hart, has visited the facilities of the University of Jaén.

In this meeting, the secretary of the University Institute of Research into Olives Groves and Olive Oils (INUO) of UJA, Pablo Cano Marchal, has presented different lines of research at the units that make up the institute. In particular, it has focused at the Unit of Ecology and the European projects where it participates on the implantation in the olive grove of sustainable and respectful practices with the environment. On the other hand, the researcher, Robert Spooner-Hart, made a presentation on his latest research on environmental issues, highlighting that, in Tasmanian area, there are olive grove plantations where several studies are being carried out.

Finally, he met with the director of the Doctoral School of the UJA, Antonio Gálvez, where it has been agreed to generate new collaborations in the field of international mobility with WSU. In this sense, it will be possible for doctoral students specialized in environment to obtain the International Mention in their PhD degree for a three-month stay at the Australian university.
