The International Olive Oil and Related Industries Trade Fair (EXPOLIVA 2023), in its 21st edition, began this Wednesday 10th May at the Provincial Exhibition and Conference Centre of Jaén, considered the world’s leading province in the olive oil sector.

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Provincial Council and President of Fairs of Jaén, Francisco Reyes, together with the Mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, the Regional Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Andalusian Regional Government, Carmen Crespo, and the Spanish Government Delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández. In addition, it has been highlighted that this event aims to “show the advances that have been made in technology, innovation and development in the olive grove and related industries, which also becomes a forum for reflection and debate with this symposium that is also a traditional part of this important international fair“.

Lastly, the president of the Provincial Council referred to the “difficult” moment in which the olive sector, in particular, and agriculture, in general, find themselves, “who look to the sky with concern pending rain, and even more so after a very bad olive season”.
