
Rector at the University of Jaen, Juan Gómez Ortega, with heads of the University Institute of Research into Olives and Olive Oils (INUO), attended a meeting of entrepreneurs from the agri-food sector held on 17 April in Madrid. During the day, agreements were established between different Spanish entities attending the event and businessmen from Gansu (China).
In other matters, director of INUO, Juan B. Barroso Albarracín, with the secretary, Pablo Cano Marchal, highlighted the future prospects of the research institute, placing special emphasis on the importance of establishing a synergy between both sources of knowledge within the olive sector.
The University Institute of Research into Olives and Olive Oils of the University of Jaen signed a collaboration agreement with ‘Xiangyu’, a company of the Chinese business sector, in order to develop training activities, research projects and even future student exchanges between both entities. In this way, the aim is to create a business and institutional link that will improve the training of future professionals in the olive sector.
