The University of Jaén will host the kick-off meeting of the international project SOIL O-LIVE on the next 25 and 26 January 2023, which has been financed by the European Commission with 6,988,660 euros. The project is coordinated by the researcher Antonio Manzaneda Ávila, INUO´s member of the Ecology Unit.
The SOIL O-LIVE project, framed within the European funding Horizon Europe, will bring together 17 participating entities from Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Poland, Morocco and Switzerland.
The main research of the project will focus on studying the biodiversity and functionality of the olive grove soil and its relationship with the production and quality of olive oil (The soil biodiversity and functionality of Mediterranean olive groves: A holistic analysis of the influence of land management on olive oil quality and safety). The duration of the project will be 5 years, from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2027.
